Artist based in Brooklyn, NY

Co-founder and Head of R&D at Rare Volume, a Design and Technology studio.

I graduated in 1998 with a degree in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design.

As a founding partner of The Barbarian Group, I established and led their west coast office and labs division until 2009. In 2011, I joined Bloom Studio to develop Planetary, an iPad app that became the first code acquisition by the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. I'm also proud to be a co-creator of the Cinder C++ framework.

My work spans from 2D data visualizations to immersive 3D terrain simulations, with a focus on theoretical physics, astronomy, flocking simulations, and audio visualizations. Currently, I work primarily in Houdini.

I've had the privilege of speaking at international conferences including OFFF, Eyeo Festival, TEDx, FlashForward, FITC, Flash on the Beach, and FlashBelt. As a guest lecturer, I've taught at RISD, NYU's ITP program, UCLA's DMA program, and SCI-ARC. My work has been exhibited at prestigious institutions including the Victoria & Albert Museum, Wing Luke Asian Museum, McLeod Residence Gallery, Wired NextFest, San Francisco Exploratorium, and the San Francisco Independent Film Festival.
